High West To Release 2011 Batch of Peach Vodka (Dec 13, 2011)

HIGH WEST TO RELEASE 2011 BATCH OF PEACH VODKA

PARK CITY, UTAH (December 13, 2011) – High West Distillery & Saloon has now released the 2011 batch of its popular Peach Vodka just in time after the infused spirit sold out across the country earlier this year. Because High West only uses local in-season peaches, the distillery has been waiting for the fall peach harvest to craft a new batch of High West Peach Vodka 7000’.

High West’s Peach Vodka is a collaboration with local peach grower Leon Wilson, based in Roy, Utah. Wilson handpicks Angeles, Sun Crest, and Red Globe peaches when they reach perfect ripeness. After cleaning and de-stoning the peaches, High West macerates the fruit in its award-winning Vodka 7000’ to extract the peach essence. The result is a golden amber vodka with vivid aromas that “leap from the glass and follow through on a round, supple entry to a very fruity medium-to-full body with a touch of peach piecrust, prairie grass and mineral water,” according to the Beverage Tasting Institute.  Each bottle of High West Peach Vodka requires four peaches.

“We love to experiment with locally-grown fruit,” said David Perkins, proprietor of High West Distillery. “because of all the sun they get, Utah peaches are some of the best and sweetest in the country and make a great flavored vodka. We don’t use artificial flavoring like most fruit vodkas so our Peach Vodka tastes like the real thing.”

High West Peach Vodka is available for sale at the High West General Store seven days a week including Sundays and holidays as well as in fine spirits shops and great bars and restaurants in 23 states.  For more information on High West’s line of small-batch, handcrafted whiskies and vodka, please contact Christa Graff, of Graff Public Relations, at 435.640.7921 or christa@graffpr.com.
