High West Vodka 7000' Lemonade

A modern classic based on the recipe for Gluwein enjoyed in Switzerland. Lemonade is made with a simple syrup mulled with vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. This is very refreshing in the summer or a great warm-up après ski.

RECIPE:
Step 1: The High West Syrup

Yield: 1.5 qt (or 6 qts finished lemonade, enough for 40 cocktails!)

Sugar – 5 cups
Water – 4 cups
Lemon – 2 ea
Whole cloves – 4 oz
Cinnamon sticks – 4 ea
Vanilla bean – 1 ea
Whole nutmeg – 1 ea

DIRECTIONS:
• Cut the lemons into halves
• Put all the ingredients together in a pot and make sure to mix it well, so it doesn’t burn on the bottom
• When the syrup starts to boil, lower the heat and simmer for 30-40 mins
• Strain the syrup and cool in a separate container

Step 2: The Lemonade
Mix together the following:
1 cup High West Syrup
1 cup Fresh lemon juice (approx. 6-8 lemons)
1 1/2 cup Fresh water

Step 3: The Cocktail
1.5 oz High West 7000' vodka
4 -5 oz High West lemonade
Splash Pomegranate
Mint sprig

Fill rocks glass with ice, 1.5 oz Vodka 7000’, High West lemonade, garnish with a splash of pomegranate juice and a sprig of fresh mint.
