Men's Journal Drinks to the Election (with A Midwinter Night's Dram!)
One Bourbon, One Shot, One Beer
This one is for the voter with higher than average anxiety (in other words, most of us).
Pour a hefty glass of Angel's Envy (a smooth, relatively inexpensive bourbon aged in port casks) over ice. Set aside.
Measure out a shot of Lot 40 Rye. Shoot it.
Chase with a Founder's Mosaic Promise IPA. This hoppy brew is a perfect match for the rye.
Repeat as necessary. -Tyghe Trimble, Editorial Director, MensJournal.com
A Gulp-able Whiskey
High West’s A Midwinter Night’s Dram should help me pretend this last year has been but a dream… at least for the night. A rich and delicious rye finished in port and French oak barrels, it is a great sipper that can easily be taken in gulps — if things start to slide the wrong way. -Nicholas McClelland, Photo Editor
My first inclination was to open some big, dark, high-ABV stout — something serious. But on second thought, a more sessionable beer is in order. This is going to be a long night, and the last thing I want is to fall asleep on the couch before we have a winner. I'll be working my way through a 6-pack of IPA — Sierra Nevada Celebration has a nice ring to it. -Mike Conklin, Senior Editor, MensJournal.com
I just need a fucking shot of tequila. Maybe a few, depending on who wins. –Ryan Krogh, Senior Editor
